The 2017-2018 AWARE Program has now closed.

 


Prog​ram


​The AWARE Program aims to enhance Western Australia's emergency management (EM) arrangements by investing in planning and human capacity building at a local or district level. In 2017-18 projects had to align with one of the following categories:


​Loc​​al E​​mergency M​​anagement Arrangements (LEMA)

  • ​​​​​​​​​​Includin​​​​​​​​​g recovery planning and pre-evacuation planning
  • ​​Funds not to be used for the hire of a consultant; process must be undertaken in-house (by existing employees, or through back-filling positions)


​Exercis​es

  • ​​I​​n​​​​​​​​​cludes ​​​​both fiel​d and workshop settings

Com​​munity Education

    • ​​​To enhance the knowledge and awareness of community members or emergency services personnel

    • ​​​​​​​​​​Includes training


    Res​earch

    • ​​​​​​To undertake assessments or research to better inform decision-making in the areas of:
      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Risk - excluding Bushfire Risk Management Planning (BRMP); ​
      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Impact;
      • ​​​​​​​​​Capability;
